Daytime Running Lights - An Extra Margin of Safety

For years it has been recognized that having your headlights on during the day added an extra margin of safety. In fact some studies show they reduce accidents by as much as 30 percent. Because of these findings, many new cars have daytime running lights as a standard feature. Now you can add this valuable safety feature to your Miata with this wiring kit. Also, check with your insurance company - it may also entitle you to an insurance discount.

With this kit installed (for US market Miatas only), the running lights/headlights switch no longer controls the top front amber-colored running lights. Instead, they illuminate whenever the ignition is on. The side front running lights and the rear running lights still operate by the familiar switch. For most daytime driving purposes, you will not need to turn on or off any light switch, yet oncoming drivers can see your amber running lights (a.k.a. parking lights). No more dead batteries just because you forgot to switch off your running lights when you stopped for lunch!

At $20 a set - it is an inexpensive safeguard for you and your Miata.

Installation Information

• This will take about 30 minutes to complete.

• Simply to cut two wires located under the headlight assemblies. And add the harness.
  (The hardest part is working under the headlights).
