HARD DOG EXTREME

You wanted a double hump roll bar so here it is!

The Hard Dog Extreme is designed for 1990-2005 Miata owners who wanted the look of a double hump style bar but demand that it provide some amount of protection in a roll over. While not SCCA approved for Solo I autocross, it can be used for many other events that may require use of a roll bar.
 Check with your local chapter or region for current rulings.

The Hard Dog Extreme is just the bar for those looking for protection with style.


Key Features

Does not interfere with convertible top operation.
Fits full height and width of the interior.
Allows for full use of seat travel and tilt for both seats.
Note: Your rear vision is affected by the Extreme.
Constructed of high quality 1020 DOM tubing (1 3/4" diameter by .125 wall like the Hard Core.)
Standard durable semi-flat black powder coated finish.   Polished Stainless Steel available.
Complete installation instruction sheet included along with all other hardware needed. 

Design Background

The placement of the gas tank in the Miata places many restrictions on just where bracing can be installed. The unique design of the Hard Dog Extreme allows it to be fashioned with a double-hoop which until now could be found only in style bars which, while stylish, offer no protection in a roll. 

Installation Information

NOTE - The factory wind stop CANNOT be used with the Extreme
Must drill holes in several places.
Must cut some sheet metal for the back braces.
The plastic panels covering the seat belt towers must be trimmed.  See below

Trim cut

Tools Needed:
   16mm (or 5/8 socket) wrench
   10 mm wrench or deep socket
   2 - 9/16 wrenches
   Phillips head screwdriver
   Tin snips (for panels and sheet metal)
   T-40 Torx Drive 6 pt.
    Drill & long 3/8" drill bit
   Jack and Jack Stands
   3/4" Hole Saw (some ABS cars)
